Plot: A struggling actor whose dream is slowly slipping away, loses almost everything he has before attempting to rediscover his purpose in life. Full summary » |  »

Story: Charlie is inspired by his parents to do what he loves. He moves to LA as a young man to pursue his dream and become a working actor. Ten unsuccessful years later, now a veteran waiter with an acting manager who lives in a tent, the dream is slowly slipping away. His girlfriend Kate, also a struggling actress who labors as a children's birthday clown on the side, is ready to get married, start a family, and possibly surrender to the inevitability of not making it. Strained by the loss of love, family, and the forces of Hollywood that seem unwilling to give Charlie a break, he finds inspiration in the most unexpected of places. Sad, painful, inspiring, and at times hilarious, Under the Hollywood Sign is not just the story of the struggling actor and the possibility of dreams not coming true, but also of rediscovering our purpose in life.
